Dr. Hsue is Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She holds the Chizuko and Nobuyuki Kawata Chair and is Chief of Cardiology at UCLA. Priscilla did all of her training including medical school, residency, and fellowship at UCSF and until June 2024 was Chief of Cardiology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General at UCSF. Her research focus is on the role of HIV infection, inflammation and cardiovascular disease. She leads a broad portfolio of clinical and translational studies on HIV-related cardiovascular disease which includes clinical trials of anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and cardiometabolic therapies in HIV and individuals with long COVID. Dr. Hsue has had continuous NIH funding since 2005 and is PI and co-I on numerous NIH grants with > 240 papers. She is a member of ASCI, AUC, AAP, and is the President of ASCI and Vice Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation. Dr. Hsue has previously served on the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council at NIH and has chaired multiple NHBLI study sections. She will be an incoming Associate Editor for Circulation. She has been fortunate to mentor many individuals and has been recognized by multiple mentoring awards during her career.
Dr. Hsue served on the ASCI Council as Councilor, 2020-2021; Secretary-Treasurer, 2021-2023; Vice President, 2023-24; and President-Elect, 2024-2025.
