Dr. Michael Peluso is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases, and Global medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. In March 2020, he implemented the UCSF Long-term Impact of Infection with Novel Coronavirus (LIINC, pronounced “link”) research program, which was one of the first post-COVID research programs in the world which has supported over 75 collaborations investigating the causes of Long COVID. LIINC includes an observational cohort, tissue biopsy program, and imaging program. He also oversees the Long COVID trials unit at UCSF, which is engaged in a variety of clinical trials testing various Long COVID therapeutics. In addition, Dr. Peluso is responsible for implementation of the UCSF sites for the national RECOVER program and co-directs the San Francisco General Hospital Long COVID Clinic.
