Matt Greenblatt is a physician-scientist at Weill Cornell Medical College with a research focus on identifying new stem cells in the skeleton and understanding how these stem cells impact skeletal health. After a MS/BS program at Yale University, he then performed MD and PhD studies at Harvard University, completing his PhD in the laboratory of Dr. Laurie Glimcher. Upon completing residency in pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, he started his laboratory at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2015. Highlights of the lab's work include the discovery of a stem cell on the outer surface of bones, 2 stem cells forming the skull, and a stem cell in the vertebrae that contributes to the high rates of breast cancer metastasis to the spine.
