Call for Poster Abstracts
View accepted abstracts from the ASCI/AAP 2009 Joint Meeting!
The deadline for submitting an abstract has passed.
Each abstract must be submitted as a poster presentation. Presenters scheduled in poster sessions will be assigned a board to display text and other illustrative material (graphs, charts and tables) for a specific session. Poster boards will measure 4 feet high by 8 feet wide.
Abstract Submission Deadlines
Abstracts will be accepted beginning September 25, 2009.
The deadline to submit abstracts is January 5, 2010.
Submission Policies
- Each presenter is only allowed to submit one abstract for consideration. If multiple abstracts are submitted, the presenter will be asked to select just one.
- Presentation content should not have been previously published.
- The vast majority of poster presenters are physicians/MD/PhD students whose work is in biomedicine. Other forms of science may be accepted, but do not represent the majority of the presenter demographics.
Submission Requirements
Before submitting an abstract, review the following requirements:
Presenter
Each abstract may indicate only one presenter. Data required: first name, last name, highest degree, affiliation, full mailing address, e-mail address, and phone. (The majority of this information will be filled out when you create an account.)
Co-Authors
Each abstract can include a maximum of 10 co-authors.
Abstract Title
Titles are limited to 250 characters, including spaces (approximately 36 words).
Abstract Text
Text is limited to ~2,800 characters, including spaces (approximately 430 words). Abstract text should not include authors, references and/or acknowledge funding sources.
Presentation
- Presenters scheduled in poster sessions will be assigned a board to display text and other illustrative material (graphs, charts and tables) for a specific session.
- Poster boards will measure 4 feet wide by 8 feet high.
Travel Awards
All decisions about Travel Awards will be made as quickly as possible after the submission deadline of January 5, 2010. Applicants should not expect to receive notification any earlier than February 2010.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Who is allowed to submit an abstract?
Anyone may submit an abstract, but only content appropriate for the
target audience of physician-scientists, their trainees, and others in the
physician-scientist career path (such as MD/PhD students) will be selected
for the Poster Session.
- Is there an abstract submission fee?
No. There is no charge to submit an abstract. However, all presenters must register for the meeting at the appropriate rate. Submission of an abstract does not constitute registration for the meeting.
- What presentation formats are available?

- How long can an abstract be?
Abstracts submitted for the ASCI/AAP 2010 Joint Meeting may be up to ~2,800 characters
- When will I know if my abstract was accepted?
Travel Award applicants should not expect notification any earlier than February 2010. All other submitters will receive an e-mail notification of abstract disposition in February.
